...have been leading up to this day. I just returned from the airport where I dropped off Sam. He will be on a plane shortly to take him back to his home in Chicago. Not sure when we'll see each other again but I know we'll be chatting and texting constantly. But it is sad. The circumstances could have been different but he is lifting his head up high and will come out stronger than ever.
Take a look at his farewell video he posted on his blog this morning. It speaks volumes.
Oh Andy and Lisa! This was an awesome video and so, so Sam! What a blessing he has been to you and I know he feels the same way about y'all. Here's my favorite quote for moments like these and I have used it many, many times over the years as we have had to say good-bye to friends. It was given to me by Suzi Thomsic in 1971 when we left Utah... "They come, they go, we meet, we part And there the pleasure ends. Save for the few; Our joys increase, our sorrows share, our burdens bare... And these we call our friends."
What a great collections of fantastic AK "photographs" - maybe Sam should consider taking up professional photography! Wish we would have met him while he lived in Alaska. Remember he's only a airline flight away and there are direct flights to-from Chicago.

Thinking about you!

Oops! I hate not having spellcheck. That would be.....
"Our burdens BEAR, not bare."
