SICK BABIES!!!!....doing better now

Again, sorry for the lack of posts lately. I forget how many people actually check this. Thanks for hanging in there with us.

The girls are doing fantastic. They are crawling and pulling themselves up on everything. Alyssa seems very close to taking her first unassisted step. We've even had to upgrade our car seats because they're getting so big.

The other big news is we are now recovering from our first cold. The girls started running a fever about a week and a half ago. Initially, we thought it was the next round of teething but the fever stuck around and was a little higher than in the past. They also were staying up most of the night. So after a couple of difficult nights of inconsolable babies, we took the them to the dr. and was told we would just have to let it run it's course. A couple days later, the noses starting running and the coughing/gagging got much worse. We went back to the dr. since we were still fighting a low grade fever. Dr. didn't see anything else wrong and finally, Tuesday of this week they broke the fever and were acting normal again. We are still dealing with the runny noses and occasional cough but at least they are playing and acting like their old selves again.

Here's a Katy-centric video and a couple of pictures. Wearing the hat is a sure way to cheer them up if they are grumpy. Just stick it on their head and they can't resist smiling. What made these pictures kind of funny was I put the hat on at the end of the hallway and went to get the camera. By the time I turned around, she had scooted all the way down the hall and was still wearing the hat.

FYI, the girls weights are now...
Alyssa...17 lbs 12 ounces
Katy...17 lbs 9 ounces.

Alyssa was above 18 lbs but lost a little bit of weight while they were sick. I'm sure she's back over 18 lbs by now. Katy is definitely catching up though.

Happy Father's Day

Yeeeeah, I know it's been a long time. We are...and the girls...are doing great. More stories and videos later. Here's a few pics to hold you over till next time.

This last one is of Alyssa. One day, I sat her down in front of the screen not knowing what she would do. She just sat there...for like 5 minutes!! If you've ever seen how active 1 year olds can be, you know how crazy it is that she sat there on her own in the same spot for 5 MINUTES!
