My baby girls turn 1 tomorrow! It's amazing when we think about how far we've come over the past year and how fast that time goes by. We've been reflecting a lot these last couple of weeks...thinking about the weeks and days leading up to their unexpected delivery. I remember Lisa being very uncomfortable those last couple of days but feeling pretty confident that the girls were doing well and no reason to think that our weekly doctor's visit would be anything but routine.
Routine it was not. The situation escalated very quickly...as did our emotions. That was a very tense couple of hours as we watched the activity around us increase when they realized Alyssa was in trouble. What a day! It truly is amazing it went as well as it did. Lisa and the girls recovered so quickly and besides some minor hiccups the next couple of weeks, the girls graduated out of the NICU in record time.
Just today Lisa found out about an acquaintance of ours that was 37 weeks pregnant with everything going well. They went in for a routine checkup and couldn't find the heartbeat. Not a very uplifting story, I know...but it reemphasized exactly what little miracles our girls are. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for blessing our lives with these little angels.
So I want to take this time to thank everyone who prayed for us all those weeks...before and after April 5th. It was by far the most stressful time of our lives and we couldn't have got through it without all of you. Thank you for all of your generosity...giving and giving and giving. We owe most of what we own to all of our family and friends. THANK YOU!
We won't just be celebrating the girls 1 year birthday, we'll be remembering all the love, support, generosity, care, that's gone into the first year of their lives...and beyond. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We love you all!
We've been asked a couple times what the girls' sizes are. I'll find out for sure from Lisa and post it on here in case you'd like to send something. We have also started a college fund for the girls. It's set up so that anyone can contribute...but you'll still need to email me first. I've set up a new email account if you'd like to do that. agsinak @ yahoo.com (take out the spaces)
Then finally, you can always contribute to the March for Babies. We've already got a great start thanks to Mom, Laurie, and Julie!!!
The girls will be diving into their cakes tomorrow. We'll be sure to get lots of pictures and videos.

Happy Belated Birthday to your precious girls. I can't believe a year has passed since their birth.
Sorry I haven't responded to your posts lately, but I just had another baby girl :)
Again, happy birthday and thank you for allowing me to watch your miracles grow.
